Ricky Patterson

An astronomer by training, Ricky provides department liaison support and outreach to science disciplines, covering subject and information databases, data management and use, and scientific methods and programming. Ricky works with colleagues within the Library and across the University to promote the expert use of information, computation and data, and University resources, in support of research across the University. Ricky serves as the liaison to the Astronomy, Mathematics, and Physics departments.

Erin Pappas

As a liaison in the Library Spaces & Services area, Erin supports several areas in the humanities and social sciences, including the Slavic department, the Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies, and the Linguistics program.

Maggie Nunley

Maggie Nunley is a Science and Engineering Librarian with a passion for empowering students through information literacy. With expertise in curriculum development and dynamic instructional delivery, Maggie creates engaging learning experiences tailored to diverse environments, including classroom sessions, online guides, and interactive tutorials.

Arlyn Achsah Bayle Newcomb

Arlyn is a member of the Reserves Group, where she supplies video materials to Canvas course sites in concert with Leigh Rockey and Marc Campbell. Her work includes digitizing video materials, creating and posting video clips, and communicating directly with faculty who use the service.

Rich J Miller

As an AV & IT systems engineer, Rich supports the AV and IT infrastructure of the Library. Additionally, he works on the Alderman Library reference desk and selects graphic novels for the Library’s collection.

Laura M. Miller

The Scholars’ Lab supports a diverse community of digital scholars and scholarly makers across the University and beyond. As Digital Scholarship Services Librarian, Laura serves as the head of public programs and outreach for the Scholars' Lab. Through speaker events and workshops, she connects digital researchers at all levels with expertise, training, and ongoing discourse. She also manages the Makerspace, and in that role she is the primary point of contact between the Scholars' Lab and broader library services.

Bethany Mickel

Bethany Mickel's work involves information instruction both within and outside the Teaching & Learning team. She works to leverage sound instructional design and UDL principles in the development of instructional materials and learning objects for use in both synchronous, asynchronous, and hyflex settings.Her research interests include the intersectionality of information and media literacy as well as project-based learning as a means of assessment in higher education.   

Kara M McClurken

Kara M. McClurken is the Director of Preservation Services. She oversees all activities related to physical and digital preservation for the University Library, which includes audiovisual conservation, book and paper conservation, book repair and protective enclosures for circulating collections, commercial binding, digital preservation, disaster preparedness and recovery, environmental monitoring, outreach and consulting.
