An exhibition centering the work of UVA student and Charlottesville community racial justice activists who — despite City and University officials’ discouragement of counter-protests — organized demonstrations and events which resulted in significant anti-fascist victories during the 2017 Summer of Hate.
Catalina Piatt-Esguerra
Catalina Piatt-Esguerra is the Associate Dean for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility at the University of Virginia Library. She serves as member of the Library’s Senior Leadership Team. She directs the implementation of the Library’s Inclusive Excellence Plan, tracking outcomes and accountability, collecting relevant data, and partners across all of the Library’s divisions to support the execution of this plan. Her work focuses on organizational culture and climate, staff sense of belonging, and best practices of inclusion-focused work process and infrastructure.

Lauren Mari Massari
Lauren has been the multimedia designer for the Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities (IATH) since 2012. What she does day to day depends on what IATH's current faculty fellow projects are, but she mostly focuses on developing digital reconstructions of historical architecture and producing still renders, animations, and interactive walk-throughs. She also does some web development and design, content management, graphic design, post-production editing, or whatever else a project may need.
