Video production and spaces

The Robertson Media Center can help you produce high quality videos using our equipment checkout and production spaces. Give the video studio a try, or check out equipment at the front desk and take it with you!

Video studio

The Video Studio is a video production space with a wide variety of professional-level equipment including adjustable lighting, a Canon XF300 camera, a teleprompter, audio equipment, four different backdrops, and a number of props. This is a good place for producing professional looking interviews, shooting with the green screen, and recording class presentations.

Training is required prior to using the video studio, including a video series and in-person assessment (sign up here). Studio reservations are required and are mediated by RMC staff.

Equipment

The Robertson Media Center offers a wide range of equipment for walk-up use (first-come, first served), as well as a selection of high-end equipment that requires a bit of training before making a reservation. If you're not sure which video camera to borrow, take a look at our comparison information to help you decide!

Need further guidance? Our helpful desk staff can always assist. Visit us on the 3rd floor of Clemons Library, email teachlearn@virginia.edu, or call 434-924-7474.

Reservable equipment

Reservable equipment includes high-end items for those times when only the best will do, including cameras, and light kits. This specialty equipment requires some training before you can check it out, but the process is easy and RMC’s helpful staff can happily connect you to the tutorials required. See comparison of different video cameras.
