The Charles Locke Purchase Fund, endowed in 1984 by Warren and Lydia Chappell, is to be used for the purchase of books on drawing, composition and printmaking, and examples of their applications, including catalogues of drawing exhibitions. Mr. Chappell, an illustrator and book and type designer, named the fund for the teacher and artist Charles Wheeler Locke.
